Titan Skin Tightening

Our office is now using a new breakthrough treatment to turn back the clock—The Titan Procedure. This is a safe, proven, non-surgical procedure to tighten skin and reverse the signs of aging. Titan is the ideal solution for achieving younger and tighter skin on the face and body without surgery. It is the newest and most exciting non-invasive cosmetic procedure on the market. Titan works by utilizing safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. This heating can cause immediate contraction of collagen to tighten skin. After the procedure, new collagen growth in the dermis results in further tightening of lax skin, folds and lines over a 3 to 6 month period. The procedure is comfortable and requires no anesthesia. There is no down-time with the Titan procedure. The most common areas treated are face, abdomen, arms, and thighs.

IPL (Intense Pulse Light)

IPL, also known as Photo Genesis, Photo Facial, Photorejuvenation, or Limelight works by emitting intense pulsed light which penetrates the superficial layers of the skin ridding you of various skin discoloration on any part of your body. IPL is exceptionally effective at removing brown pigmented lesions such as age spots, sun spots and freckles as well as diffusing redness such as rosacea-leaving clearer, younger skin. The most common areas treated are face, hands, shoulders and arms.

Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis skin therapy is an innovative, technologically advanced way to promote vibrant and healthy looking skin. Now you can have a more youthful appearance by treating those conditions that are typically associated with premature signs of aging and sun damage, such as excessive redness, large pores, uneven texture, and fine wrinkles-including crow’s feet.
Laser Genesis utilizes laser technology to gently heat the upper dermis, below the skin surface, stimulating new collagen production. This new collagen helps to restore your skin’s healthy glow and youthful appearance. You will see a creamier, healthy complexion as large pores are reduced in size, and minor imperfections are diminished.

3D Treatment

This 3-step approach utilizes IPL, Laser Genesis and Titan to create a synergistic effect where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. 3D Treatments minimize age spots, sun damage, large pores, rosacea, skin flushing and wrinkles-while tightening the skin of the face or body. The details of each treatment step are provided above. When all three are combined in a 3D skin rejuvenation program, it offers the most effective and dramatic results. All three laser procedures are done on the same visit.

Laser Vein Treatment

Laser treatment of veins provides a safe and effective way to remove a wide range of veins by causing the vein to gently heat up, shrink, and disappear over time, sparing you painful injections, bruising and recovery time. The laser treatments can also eliminate other unsightly vascular lesions such as hemangiomas and port wine stains.

Chemical Peels

Our peels are one of the strongest and safest peels available. We have several peels individualized to your needs. The peels work by removing the very superficial layers of skin thus diminishing any abnormal facial pigmentation. Mild exfoliation may occur for 3 to 5 days, offering little to no downtime.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion employs the bombardment of multi-faceted crystals to exfoliate and polish the outer keratin layer of the dermis. The skin perceives the bombardment as an injury to the stratum corneum and begins to reproduce fresh cells, thus, rejuvenating the skin and restoring a more youthful appearance. A brand new skin surface is revealed, healthier and revitalized. The treatment is virtually painless, and improves the appearance of skin texture, large pores, acne and acne scarring, dry or dull patches, sun spots, age spots, rough skin, blackheads, clogged pores, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles.

Laser Hair Removal

Since the mid-1990’s, laser hair removal has become one of the most popular non-invasive aesthetic treatments available. But not all hair removal lasers are created equal. Our Cutera® Laser System uses a long wavelength that penetrates deeper into the hair root which results in greater permanent hair removal, not just a temporary ‘stunning’ of the hair follicle. It also effectively removes unwanted facial and body hair in patients of all skin types - from the fairest to the darkest skin color. Many other systems cannot be used to treat dark-skinned patients. Our treatments are also more comfortable than many other hair removal lasers, in part because of the built-in cooling mechanism in the laser hand piece.

Patients can expect to see 10-20% less hair growth/density with each treatment. Therefore, 75-90% or more hair removal can be achieved with a recommended series of 6 treatments in most areas. The hair follicles that are destroyed are gone permanently. Over time, however, new hair follicles may develop due to hormone changes, medications and other factors. The final result is nevertheless a permanent and significant reduction of unwanted hair growth. We can treat all areas of the body including penis, vagina, scrotum, and perianal areas.

Skin Care

If your goal is to maintain your appearance the best that it can be at any age, good skin care is the foundation on which to build. Over the years, our skin suffers not only from the aging process, but also damage in the form of ultra-violet rays from the sun and exposure to environmental toxins. Skin care is therefore aimed at PREVENTION of further damage/aging, RESTORATION of a healthier structure and MAINTENANCE of skin health. If you choose to have no other aesthetic treatment, good skin care is the bare necessity. If you are investing in other treatments such as laser or any cosmetic procedure, good skin care is essential to maintaining the longevity of the outcome – “protecting your investment.”

We offer our patients the services of a board certified, Georgia licensed Clinical Esthetician to guide them through an effective and personalized skin care program. Patients start with a thorough skin analysis and recommendations for a manageable, yet highly effective home care regimen. In-office treatments such as results-oriented facials utilizing microdermabrasion or medical grade peels may be also be suggested. Seeing our esthetician before and after your laser or other cosmetic treatments can enhance and even prolong your results.

Our preferred SeSDERMA product line effectively reverses the signs of aging and maintains beautiful skin at any age. In the Atlanta region we are one of the few offices to offer these internationally recognized treatments and products which won two awards including the award for “Most Innovative Product Line” at the prestigious International Congress of Dermatology held in Argentina in 2007. While they cost about the same as many store-bought products, the quality of the formulations and concentration of key ingredients leads to superior results.

BOTOX® Injections

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name BOTOX®, is the number one cosmetic procedure in the United States.

It is a non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. BOTOX® is administered with an extremely fine needle directly into the targeted facial muscle. The toxin blocks the nerve impluses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance.

The effect generally lasts from three to six months. Administation of BOTOX® is a relatively pain-free procedure, and ideal treatment for those patients who wish to avoid significant invasive surgery or want to minimize ther time away from work or other responsibilities.

BOTOX® is also effective in treating hyperhidrosis, which is excessive underarm sweating.

Dermal Fillers

We offer a variety of cosmetic dermal fillers that smooth the appearance of wrinkles, soften facial folds, restore fullness and reverse the signs of aging. Over time, skin loses collagen and is unable to repair itself resulting in the appearance of lines and folds. As we mature we lose fullness or volume and our skin sags. With dermal fillers our goal is to minimize the appearance of aging by filling lines and restoring volume. Dermal fillers are a safe and effective way to turn back the hands of time and can be used repeatedly. The results last from 6 to 18 months, depending on what filler is used. Radiesse, Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm UltraPlus, Restylane, and Perlane are offered by Dr. Gurley.
